CNN Apologizes to Turkish Americans

Upon receiving thousands of emails and letters, CNN International realized how serious its mistake was and apologized for showing the fictitious map on Campbell Brown’s program on 21 August 2009 where large swaths of Turkey and her neighbors were labeled “Kurdistan”.

California Action Alert – Prevent History Lessons with Hateful Agenda

Ask your California State Assembly Member to vote against SB 234 unless it is amended to explicitly permit the presentation of contra-genocide viewpoints in genuine historical controversies.

SB 234 would allow the California State Curriculum Commission to recommend adding an oral history component to the 2014 history-social science curriculum framework that relates to genocide. The Armenian Lobby has been heavily lobbying for this bill. Should it be passed, this will open the classroom doors to the lobby’s well organized campaign to demonize Turks today and to prevent an open, fair and truthful discussion of Ottoman-Armenian history. Over 45 people attended Prof. Turkkaya Ataov’s lecture at Kellogg, Chicago. Prof. Ataov provided numerous sources that explain the events that took place in eastern Anatolia during first World War.

Action Alert: Google limits free speech

The Turkish Coalition of America for months maintained Google Ads for its website, www.turkishcoalition.org, without protest or incident. But after an aggressive campaign by an Armenian American group Google suddenly and without a chance for the Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) to respond suspended the ads saying that they violated its “Anti” policy. Google also said that it could not accept ads for websites that, “suggest revisions to history.”

ATAA Condemns Violence Against Turkic Uighurs in China

The Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) condemns the hate crimes and killings that have occurred against Uighur Turks in the Xinjiang province of China. Since Sunday, ethnic Hans, armed with clubs lead pipes, shovels and meat cleavers, have killed over 150 and seriously wounded over 1000 Uighurs. [ read ]
